End-of-Year Party
March 31, 2012

Fun & games, our annual season-in-review video, certificates and medals were on the agenda at the End-of-Year Party. Not to mention yummy food and catching up on the few weeks since we last skied together. Adults took time to complete their End-of-Year Survey. If you missed the party, you can still download the survey and get it to Jackie by April 30th.

Alaya leaps from ring to ring in one of the contests at the party.

Take the End-of-Year Survey
We are looking for feedback from this year and input into plans for the summer, fall, and next ski season. Please take five minutes to click here and print the attached END-OF-YEAR SURVEY (2 pages or one page on 2 sides), fill it out, and get it to Jackie by April 30th.

Team Gogebic Enters the "Off Season"
What is the "off season'? It is a time to recover from the strains of the ski season, to rest without losing the fitness gained over the winter, to do whatever workouts we enjoy, at whatever pace feels good. Be careful not to ramp up those running miles too quickly. Often we have such good cardiovascular fitness at the end of ski season we feel we could run forever. But we have to take time to rebuild our "running legs." So mix it up with running, biking, kayaking, hiking, yoga, swimming, and weight training.

Kids and the "Off Season"

What should our ski kids be doing this time of year? Anything that gets them moving! Remember the ABCs: agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Daily unstructured outdoor play is recommended. Bike riding, jumping rope, playing at the park, skateboarding or scootering, swimming, gymnastics, dance. Team sports like baseball and soccer are good too.

How about a Running Singlet?

We have a few running singlets left. Men's (looser with bit arm holes) small and medium and women's (form fitted) small and medium.

The cost is $25 and they are available for team members only.

Here's Ben in the men's, and Sandy & Jackie in the women's.

THANK YOU ABR
A special thanks goes out to Eric & Angela at ABR for their support every week. Without the free trail passes and equipment every Tuesday and Thursday our team would be less than half its current size. They share our mission to introduce anyone who is interested to the sport of cross country skiing without regard to financial circumstances.

Thank you Kimball Inn
Kimball Inn donates all the proceeds from their boot at the Taste of the Trails to Team Gogebic. Funds go into our Youth Program.

Youth Ski Equipment Needed
We have a mission to introduce children to our sport while making it as affordable as possible to families. If you have any youth ski boots, skis or poles to lend or donate to the team or sell at a low price, please let Ken or Jackie know.

Membership Count at 91!!
49 adults
42 youth
17 families
We now have 39 new members to Team Gogebic. Welcome all!
